the garden design of this new residential building includes a roof garden on the first floor which, in addition to creating a visual connection with the gardens of Piazzale Libia, becomes a private courtyard to be enjoyed and at the same time improves the perception of the urban context for the residents of the neighbouring buildings.<\/span><\/p>\n

the project aims not only to enhance the landscape of the area in relation to the architectural design, whose contemporary style it echoes, but also to promote environmental sustainability, water conservation and vegetation choices based on orientation.
<\/span>specifically, it is an intensive roof garden with a large metal planter to allow for the planting Betula utilis jacqmontii birch trees (Betula utilis jacqmontii).<\/span> <\/p>\n

underneath the birch trees are mixed borders of Hydrangea spp, ferns and sedges.
the entrance to the garden is emphasised in perspective by a specimen of Cercidiphyllum japonicum, whose ornamental value lies in its particularly striking autumn foliage.<\/span><\/p>\n

most of these are first and second-size trees, assessed on the basis of the size they will reach when fully grown, in relation to the proportions of the architectural intervention and exposure. <\/span><\/p>\n

the central part of the garden, which is more exposed to the sun, features a pergola that echoes the architectural lines of the building.
under the pergola is a fragrant heart with prostrate rosemary, Sporolobus and Gaure perennials. the pergola area thus becomes a window offering a privileged view of Piazzale Libia and also a place to linger.<\/span><\/p>\n

the entrance to the garden and the building from Piazzale Libia becomes a green \u201cpassage\u201d in visual and physical continuity with the large trees in the square. the materials used for the outdoor paving are stabilised, draining gravel for the sustainable control and management of urban rainwater runoff, following the increasingly frequent intense and short-lived meteorological events.<\/span><\/p>\n

the garden design ensures a balanced relationship between architecture and open spaces, establishing a good landscape perception with the urban context and, above all, in relation to the green area of Piazzale Libia.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
