the Villa De Cristoforis Gray Park is part of a landscape system connected to the Naviglio Grande canal, historic villas, industrial archaeology sites and the nature trails of the Ticino River Park.
water is the dominant feature of the Turbigo area, not only in terms of landscape but also in terms of energy, as a source of sustainable energy.
for this reason, the project aims not only to restore the historical features of the garden, but also to connect the park with the Naviglio Grande canal as part of a system linked to historic villas, industrial archaeology, the water system (canals, springs and irrigation ditches) and the soft mobility system as a resource for environmental tourism.
the geometric shapes of the paths and plant elements of the Italian garden thus blend with the softer lines of the landscape garden, creating an open public space closely linked to Villa De Cristoforis Gray, now a library, and the nearby Senior Centre.
