the project area is located at the entrance of Castello Cabiaglio
a small village of particular historical importance, which has preserved much of its original architectural and urban layout. it is located on the edge of the Campo dei Fiori Park, in an area of great beauty landscape. the beauty and unique characteristics of Cabiaglio mean that it is still inhabited by young families and is very popular due to the quality of the services it offers, such as activities for children, theatre courses and summer and autumn camps.
Castello Cabiaglio is also a destination for both local and non-local tourism due to its extremely natural setting and the historical and architectural heritage of its village.
the PLAY is the main element for promoting urban connection.
this exclusively pedestrian connection links the town centre with the small square at the bus stop along the provincial road to Varese. the slide, the inclusive play area and the ramp will be the connecting elements that guarantee the safety of pedestrians but also the possibility of recreation, play and socialising in a very naturalistic setting.
in general, all choices have been made with a view to ensuring the uniqueness of the places, the environmental landscape characteristics, the use of natural materials and, in general, the high quality of the project over time.
the quality of the project stems precisely from the participatory actions that strengthen social ties and promote a greater sense of belonging to the places.
overall, the project redesign the access and entrance area to Castello Cabiaglio but, above all, establishes new relationships of regeneration with the context, offering experiences that combine the physical activity of play, outdoor life, enjoyment of the natural landscape, the opportunity to stroll through the historic village, encounters and conviviality, because walking is the most natural and sustainable form of mobility for improving quality of life and promoting slow and sustainable tourism.
one of the objectives of the project is to improve accessibility to the area through a ramp at the top and a ramp at the bottom with gradients that comply with current regulations on overcoming architectural barriers.
another objective of the project is to encourage socializing, integration, inclusion and a sense of belonging to the area while respecting nature and the landscape.
